David has been qualified for over 25 years and has specialised in criminal defence for almost all of that period. He handles a large caseload across a broad spectrum of crimes at sheriff courts throughout Scotland. He specialises in indictment cases and conducts many jury trials annually with a high degree of success. A hard worker who has expert knowledge covering a broad spectrum of criminal cases, he has fought and won many jury trials.
David is very adept at co-ordinating complex and large volume cases. His knowledge of court procedure and experience, built up by appearing on a daily basis throughout Scotland, has resulted in his high standing amongst fellow court practitioners, sheriffs and clients alike.
He was appointed in 2019 by the Scottish Legal Aid Board as a Peer Reviewer to assess criminal defence solicitors performance throughout Scotland in relation to the profession’s Quality Assurance scheme.
